W Shanghai Bund

W Shanghai Bund is located at No. 66, Lushun Road, Hongkou District, in the core area of the North Bund. It is a 200-meter walk to the International Passenger Transport Center Station of Metro Line 12. It faces the Huangpu River and the Lujiazui Financial District across the river. It is only a 5-10 minute drive from the Bund buildings and the City God Temple. The hotel was designed by G.A. Design with the concept of "Flowing Light and Colorful Splendor", integrating Shanghai-style cultural symbols with modern trend elements. The exterior facade is outlined with modern lines, while the interior creates a collision of historical charm and futurism through large color blocks of red, orange and blue, reconstruction of Shikumen elements and light and shadow art installations. The 42-storey building houses 374 guest rooms, all equipped with panoramic floor-to-ceiling Windows offering direct views of the Huangpu River and the skyline of Lujiazui. The interior decoration details inspired by the old Shanghai sauce gardens and the bold use of colors interpret the dual charm of "tradition and avant-garde".

The dining space features five distinctive venues: The Flag Restaurant presents international cuisine in the style of a New York Bistro. The spring menu innovatively introduces sharing dishes such as French red wine stewed chicken legs and fruit charcoal grilled New Zealand lamb chops. The two-story mezzanine space of Yan Zhong Restaurant combines Cantonese cuisine with Jiangnan cuisine, offering "Yan Tea Dim Sum Brunch" and festival-themed dinners. Yanzhu Bar recreates the cocktail culture of Shanghai's golden age. WOOBAR Bar presents different social scenes as day and night change. WET Poolside Bar features tropical special cocktails and the night view of the Bund. The hotel has specially set up the "SUPERNOVA Terrace Party", combining digital art with global creative forces to create a must-visit Supernova visual art party on the Bund during the summer. There is also a New Year's Eve countdown party inviting international DJS to present an electronic music carnival.

The recreational facilities include the FIT Fitness Center, the AWAY Spa and both indoor and outdoor swimming pools - the WET indoor pool offers a view of the Huangpu River, while the outdoor pool creates a vacation atmosphere with "Bali Trip" special blends and DJ dynamic beats. The 5,800-square-meter event space includes a 2,050-square-meter banquet hall and 12 naturally lit meeting rooms, all equipped with advanced audio-visual facilities, making it suitable for high-end conferences and trendy events. Within a three-kilometer radius, there are scenic spots such as the Bund, Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street and the Oriental Pearl Tower. You can experience the integration of Shanghai's history and modernity on foot.

The hotel completed a comprehensive renovation in 2010, integrating Art Deco style with elements of the Queen Anne Revival - the 19-meter dark green pyramid copper roof of the north building, the relief of the Sassoon family's hunting dog emblem, and the red brick gable walls and arched Windows of the south building, together form the classic outline of "the tallest building in the Far East". As a key national cultural relic protection unit and a 20th-century architectural heritage of China, its architectural aesthetics and historical value are irreplaceable.

The hotel consists of two buildings - the historic main building and the modern tower. The exterior facade of the buildings blends British classicism and Baroque elements, with arched gates, Ionic columns and a 34-meter-long black and white marble corridor bar (once known as the "No. 1 Bar in the Far East") perfectly recreating the glory of a hundred years ago. The interior was designed by Japanese architect Kikutaro Shimoda. Blending decorative art with contemporary luxury, Swarovski crystal chandeliers and hand-painted murals interweave to create an immersive experience of "a new scene at every step".

The hotel is invested by the Hong Kong and Shanghai Hotels Limited. The Kadoorie family continues their century-old bond with Shanghai. It became a landmark on the Bund upon its opening in 2009, adjacent to the Waibai Bridge and the former British Consulate Garden. It is within walking distance of historical sites such as Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street and the Shanghai Postal Museum.
