W Guangzhou Hotel

W Guangzhou Hotel

W Guangzhou is located at No. 26, Xiancun Road, Tianhe District, adjacent to K11 Art Mall and Huacheng Square. It is situated in the core area of Zhujiang New Town, facing the Canton Tower "Little Waist" across the river. It is within walking distance of the Guangdong Museum, Guangzhou Opera House and Haixinsha Park. Surrounded by Metro Line 3 and APM Line, it enjoys an excellent location. As the first W brand hotel on the Chinese mainland, it was jointly created by design master Yabu Pushelberg and architect Yan Xunqi, with the design language of "future trendy luxury" - the exterior facade integrates self-cleaning terracotta window lattices and traditional Lingnan patterns, and the 20-meter-high lobby space is paired with brown glass screens and LED waterfall water curtains, creating an immersive experience of "one scene at every step". The WOOBAR bar with a suspended bird's nest design, the reflecting water ripple swimming pool logo and the purple theme color run through the entire area, interpreting the core concept of W brand: "Exciting, unique and wonderful".

The 317 guest rooms and suites blend dark luxury with technological sophistication. The 95-square-meter fantasy suite is equipped with electric curtains, BOSE/B&o audio systems, Nespresso coffee machines and Dyson hair dryers. The bathrooms feature Hansgrohe rainforest showerheads and BYREDO amenities. Some room types retain the original wooden staircase texture, allowing you to touch the historical texture of the building as you walk. The presidential suite features a 270-degree city view terrace with private butler service. The hand-painted decoration of "The Four Seasons of the Bund" hanging by the bedside and the details of Ferragamo bathroom fixtures exudes luxury.

The dining space can be called a "trendy food theater" : The Flagship restaurant has launched a "Sichuan-Yue Taste Buds" themed buffet, prepared by Chef Li Mingjing of the St. Regis Chengdu, presenting authentic Sichuan flavors such as Sichuan Kung Pao Chicken, abalone Mapo Tofu, and Tianfu Gongbao shrimp balls, accompanied by Sichuan Opera face-changing performances and aged tangerine peel beer. WOOBAR, inspired by "Paradise", offers signature cocktails and exquisite snacks. The night-time piano performances and cigar collection create a social haven. Fei Ba and Zi Yan Chinese restaurants blend new-style Cantonese cuisine with creative tea banquets, such as ice-braised three-layered pork and lemongrass pigeon, along with seven semi-open private rooms, creating an immersive culinary experience.

The recreational facilities include a 24-hour FIT fitness center (equipped with Technogym equipment, a boxing room and a yoga room), an indoor heated swimming pool (with natural lighting design and a glass curtain wall allowing you to enjoy the panoramic view of Zhujiang New Town while swimming), and the AWAY spa, which offers bamboo massage, rose foot baths and Helena co-branded care programs, combining traditional Chinese massage and aromatherapy to create a relaxing journey for both body and mind. The hotel specially offers the "Trendy Luxury Experience Officer" service, allowing you to make reservations for Guangzhou embroidery workshops, Cantonese opera facial makeup painting, and guided Tours of the Pearl River night cruise. From Friday to Sunday evenings, there are also Sichuan-style tea art performances, and the interactive sessions are full of surprises.

The building was designed by KPF Architects. Its exterior facade features a self-cleaning white terracotta "window lattice" system, inspired by ancient Chinese ceramic craftsmanship. It not only provides shading and energy-saving functions but also forms a spatio-temporal dialogue with traditional Lingnan patterns. The interior of the hotel was designed by Yabu Pushelberg, integrating Lingnan ink-wash paintings, Guangzhou embroidery patterns and modern minimalist aesthetics - the Xuan paper art installation "Flower Bed" created by Sichuan artist Zhuang Hongyi is hung in the lobby, and in the guest rooms, celadon tea sets, bamboo weaving pattern screens and Italian Frette bedding jointly create "New Oriental Elegance".

The hotel was designed by the world's top design team HBA, blending the charm of Lingnan ink wash painting with modern luxury. The hollow lobby runs from the 70th floor to the 100th floor. Looking up, one can see the blue sky and white clouds passing through the lobby. Over 1,000 domestic and foreign artworks are dotted throughout. The ground floor is themed around "spring", while the top floor presents the atmosphere of "winter", creating a dialogue of time and space about the "cycle of the four seasons".

As a classic work of the design master Ji Yutang's "one hotel per city" strategy, the hotel combines the Oriental elegance hidden in the city with modern modernity. The exterior facade features dark wood and cream gray tones. The interior is designed with an asymmetrical layout, art installations (such as Shi Jin Song's "Spiritual Tree", Kim Byung-jin's "Melon" folding fan installation, and Tan Yanyu's "Facial Mask" fan), and Lingnan elements (such as the Guangxiu pattern screen) to create an immersive space with a new scene at every step. In 2024, it was rated as a Forbes five-star hotel.
