The Aman Shanghai Yangyun Hotel is located at No. 6161, Yuanjiang Road, Minhang District, adjacent to the Qizhong Golf Course. It boasts 140 hectares of original ecological natural scenery, surrounded by thousand-year-old camphor trees, and can be called a "mobile Song Dynasty landscape gallery". As the 30th Aman hotel in the world, the project took 16 years and cost 3.3 billion yuan. It relocated 50 ancient residences from the Ming and Qing dynasties and 10,000 ancient camphor trees from Fuzhou, Jiangxi Province over a distance of 800 kilometers. It was designed by Pritzker Prize winner Kerry Hill, integrating Huizhou-style architectural elements with modern minimalist aesthetics, creating a spatio-temporal dialogue of "rebirth of ancient residences".
Sixty-seven guest rooms and courtyards are scattered among the forest, including the Ming Suite, Ming Guest Residence, Ming Court Pavilion and Ancient Courtyard series. The Ming Suite covers an area of 99 square meters and features panoramic floor-to-ceiling Windows and a private courtyard. The one-bedroom apartment in the ancient courtyard covers an area of 350 square meters and is equipped with an independent outdoor swimming pool and a jacuzzi. The four-bedroom ancient courtyard covers an area of 950 square meters and is equipped with private butler service and independent dry and wet steam rooms. The interior is made of natural materials such as raw wood, bamboo and rattan, and is equipped with an intelligent temperature control system and 500-weave high-count cotton bedding. The hand-painted decoration of "Four Scenic Spots of Mountains and Waters" hanging at the bedside and the Beibingyang soda in the mini bar blend the memories of old Beijing with modern luxury in the details.
The dining space includes the La Zhu Chinese Restaurant (specializing in Jiangxi flavors such as chili prawns with pine flowers and burdock and Maitake soup in clay POTS), the Italian restaurant ARVA (offering Benedict eggs and black truffle roast duck), the all-day restaurant NAMA (available 24 hours a day, with breakfast enjoying the morning light and lake view), and the Rock Japanese Cuisine (Wagyu sukiyaki with a strong sense of ceremony). The outdoor terrace can host long-table banquets and starry sky concerts, serving as an excellent viewing platform for Shanghai's nightlife.
The hotel has specially set up the Nan Study Room Cultural Experience Area, which is reconstructed from an ancient residence made of golden-threaded nanmu wood and offers traditional cultural activities such as calligraphy, tea ceremony and incense ceremony. Aman Spa is hidden among the trees and features over ten treatment rooms and Russian-style bathrooms, combining traditional Chinese massage with Swiss high-tech beauty equipment. The surrounding attractions include Shanghai Film and Television Park, Maqiao Forest Sports Park, and the Church of Our Lady of the Yang Family of the Shanghai Diocese of the Catholic Church, etc., meeting the needs of cultural exploration and natural leisure.
